ATEX Directive for all explosion-proof equipment and systems This includes anything used within, or in conjunction with potentially explosive atmospheres such as safety, control and regulation devices, and protective components, equipment, and systems.
If you manufacture or sell equipment and systems of this nature, TÜV SÜD can ensure you conform to the relevant ATEX Directives and entitle you to feature the CE marking.
Equipment, components and protective systems can only be placed on the market if general safety and health requirements according to the Directive 2014/34/EU have been met, and the required statutory conformity assessment procedures have been successfully completed.
TÜV SÜD America, together with its legal accredited Notified Body in Europe, can assist customers with the certification of equipment, components, protective systems and whole processing plants in all equipment groups and categories.
TÜV SÜD experts can assist manufacturers in the process of classifying their products to equipment type, equipment category and other classification requirements found within the directive 2014/34/EU, the relevant EN standards for electrical and non-electrical equipment, and the requirements coming from customers of manufacturers (e.g. zones) related to the Directive 1999/92/EC.

IECEx Certified Equipment Scheme
As an authorized Certification Body, TÜV SÜD offers IECEx Certificate of Conformity (CoC) in accordance with IECEx Scheme for explosion protected electrical equipment.
The IECEx has a number of Conformity Assessment Schemes for equipment and systems operating in explosive atmospheres. These provide assurance that they're manufactured and operated according to the highest international standards of safety.
ExTR - Test and Assessment Report - testing and assessment of samples for compliance with IEC standards
QAR - Quality Assessment Report - assessment and auditing of manufacturers' facilities and quality system and consists of an ISO 9001 assessment plus an additional assessment according to ISO/IEC 80079-34:2017.
