January 2, 2019 – The FCC is to suspend most operations mid-day Thursday, January 3, 2019, if funding is still lapsed. There is a looming shutdown of all FCC activities for an unknown length of time. If the shutdown occurs, Technical Certification Bodies (TCB) will not be able to upload information onto the online Form 731 system nor generate FCC Grants during the shutdown. This would affect Issuing of FCC Grants/Uploading Information/Accessing Electronic filing/KDB Publication Webpages; TÜV SÜD will continue to review FCC Certification applications/exhibits.
KEY POINTS FOR FCC CERTIFICATION (in the event of a shutdown at the FCC)
- During a shutdown, TCBs will not be able to complete the final authorization on the FCC Website, however we will continue to review FCC certification applications/exhibits and provide a Draft Grant Template document indicating the parameters that will be uploaded once, the databases and website resume operation.
- There will be a delay in the FCC grant issuance on the FCC website due to the shutdown, and therefore you would need to adjust your product sales/marketing schedule accordingly.
- Once the FCC EAS filing system resumes operation, TCBs will upload approved FCC applications in the order in which we certified them.
- You can see an Orderly Shutdown Plan at this link.
