TÜV SÜD Employees Participate in The Home Depot Foundation Veterans Charity Event
Peabody, MA – Supporting their Key Account customer, The Home Depot, Eric Sproat and Scott Proffitt swing hammers and paint for veterans in need.
The Home Depot Foundation supports veterans in need across the country. The annual Home Depot Foundation event chooses a location to focus on, chooses veterans (and their families) in need and focuses efforts to bring attention where it can achieve its best impact. The volunteers participating in the event are made up of vendors to the Home Depot and their Home Depot counterparts, working hand-in-hand.
For the fourth year in a row, Eric Sproat and Scott Proffitt from TÜV SÜD’s Atlanta Performance & Retail Test Lab have joined their Home Depot friends and worked for a few days solidifying relationships, discussing business opportunities, and building homes for veterans. In the past, Eric and Scott have worked in North Carolina, Florida and California for the Foundation. This year New Orleans was chosen and they spent time there repairing homes for needy veterans and playhouses for veteran’s children! The homes they worked on were damaged in Hurricane Katrina, and the repairs included returning power to the homes that has been out for 13 years.
In addition to the great work done for the local veterans, the Foundation event is also a fundraiser, and this year raised $2.875 Million to help fund future work they do for combat-wounded veterans, homeless veterans, senior veterans and disaster response.
