UNECE Regulation No. 100 details safety requirements for the electric power train of road vehicles. The recently
published Revision 2 of the Regulation includes a number of new safety testing requirements for rechargeable energy storage systems (RESS) used in battery electric vehicles.
These tests are intended to ensure the integrity and safe operation of such systems under anticipated operating conditions, as well as to provide a higher level of safety for vehicle drivers and passengers.
